Unless you have a boat of your own, you need to get on the Island using either WightLink or Red Funnel ferry services.
Red funnel use the following route: Southampton to East Cowes - which takes approx 1 hour. Wightlink travel from Portsmouth Gunwarf to Fishbourne, or Lymington to Yarmouth
- both take roughly 30 minutes.
If you do not have a vehicle you can always use the Fastcat/Hovercraft, which takes half the time but can be quite costly.
